Sampling and Sample Preparation

To study the material composition of the rocks, determine the presence of deleterious impurities and valuable components, and establish the qualitative characteristics of rocks containing gold mineralization, various types of sampling are предусмотрены under this Project. Depending on the quality of the raw material, the Project предусматривает the following types of sampling:

  • channel sampling;

  • geochemical sampling (linear-point samples);

  • core sampling;

  • mineralogical sampling (panned-concentrate samples);

  • composite sampling.

Sample preparation will be carried out at a crushing facility outside the work area according to a standard procedure, using mechanical methods with jaw and roll crushers and a pulverizer, following a pre-developed multi-stage process: crushing, screening, mixing by the cone-and-quartering method, and reduction.

The final reduction will be carried out subject to the mandatory condition of maintaining a representative sample mass, calculated using the Richards–Chechett formula, with a coefficient of unevenness of K = 0.8 and a final particle size of 0.074 mm.
